Douglas Sporting Goods started as Douglas Sport Shop in March of 1934 by an avid fly-fisherman, Alton Douglas. It then expanded into the largest tackle shop in WV. The company became a manufacturing facility by tying flies, tying and packaging leaders, and other fly-fishing goods then distributing them throughout southern WV. In 1970, the business was moved to a 7.5 acre plot of land where the retail store was expanded into a 20,000 square ft. facility. With the addition of the marine repair service, Douglas Sporting Goods can boast the reputation as a top marine and outboard service facility in WV! Douglas Sporting Goods is currently run by the second and third generation of the Douglas family
